PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

As we move into a new year, I would like to thank all the staff, students and parents for working so hard and patiently to make this transition as smooth as possible. Although there were bumpy roads, students were learning, parents communicating and teachers teaching. I continue to feel grateful to be in a community that takes pride in supporting education and ensures that all of our children develop intellectually, emotionally, physically and socially.

Entering the New Year we will have some changes that we believe will benefit all of our communities. Nancy Bourque our VP will be reassigned to Queen Elizabeth Annex with more time for administration and support for our staff, students and parents. This means that I will be able to spend more time at the main school. We wish Nancy all the best in her new role running the annex. We will be hiring a teacher for Nancy’s teaching role.

I would like to thank Valerie Carrière, vice-principal at the annex for her time and care with our children and staff. We wish her well in her new role at Jules Quesnel. Also the PAC at the annex has so graciously accepted our parent community into theirs and I know we all look forward to many more shared events.

I would also like to thank Magdalena Kassis (principal at Queen Elizabeth), Mike Bolianaz (vice-principal at Queen Elizabeth for their continued communication and sharing of their site. The Q.E. PAC has also been so accepting of our move to their site and we appreciate all their support.

DECEMBER ACTIVITIES

ANNEX ARTS AND CRAFTS-WEDNESDAYS, DECEMBER 3, 10 & 17 (Grades 1 & 2)

We are happy to have Sujaree Karunyasopon who works for our school community team offer Arts and Crafts to our Grades 1 & 2 students on Wednesdays at lunch. Students will bring their lunch to the music room. We welcome parent volunteers as it seems we have many keen students.

WINTER WORKSHOP BAZAAR AT THE ANNEX

The QEA community is inviting the Gordon families to their “Winter Workshop Bazaar” on December 15th & 16th. This fun event gives students an opportunity to shop and purchase a holiday gift for their family. Parent volunteers sell and wrap the gifts for $1.00 per item.

We need your help NOW for our annual Queen Elizabeth Annex “Winter Workshop” Bazaar.

Please look around your house and donate any new or gently used items. Ideas for donations include: jewelry, garden items, Christmas decor, home decor, books, toys, games, arts & crafts, purses, scarves, mugs, candles, games, vases, books, wallets, unopened bath products, new or used gift bags, ties. etc. (NO stuffies please).

We also need wrapping paper, gift bags, and tape.

A collection basket will be placed in the hallway outside the school office and boxes will be placed in the classrooms to collect donations. Thank-you! Our Class reps will be looking for parent volunteer elves to help wrap.

Happy Holidays eve
