CELEBRATION OF LEARNING
Please come and visit our classrooms to see the wonderful work that the students have done on their Heritage Fair and Heirloom projects. They will be displayed in the classrooms at the Main site. The classrooms will be open from 9:00-10:00am on Tuesday, March 8th. On March 9th many of the students will be presenting to judges. The Heritage Fair projects help students learn the inquiry processes and skills: to ask questions, gather, interpret and analyze ideas and communicate findings and decisions.
TAX RECEIPTS HAVE FINALLY ARRIVED
If you have donated to the Playground Direct Drive Fund, sponsored a child at last year’s bike-a-thon or bought plants at Christmas there is most likely a tax receipt waiting for you in the main office. Please take a moment to come up to the office and pick them up! If you cannot do this and you want your child to pick them up on your behalf (Main Only), please email the secretary Heidi at firstname.lastname@example.org or provide a written note with your child; indicating the following: Name the tax receipt is under, name and division of your child picking up the receipt and permission for them to pick it up on your behalf. Please note if we don’t get an email/message from you we WILL NOT release the receipts. Also we do not have time to hand deliver them to your children they must come to the office to pick them up.
HELP TO PLAN THE FUTURE OF THE VSB
PERFORMANCE – HOJA
On Thursday, March 3 @ 9am in the Auditorium our children will have a chance to hear the Calgary based a cappella group HOJA. They will perform a wide variety of repertoire using only their voices including recent hit songs, new music and beatboxing.
While moving around Vancouver keep your eyes posted for Reading Lights in neighbourhoods across Vancouver. Reading Lights celebrates the work of B.C. Children’s book authors and illustrators and offers unexpected encounters with an array of stories for children and their families on lamp posts near parks, playgrounds, schools and libraries throughout Vancouver. To find a list of where they are located go to the Vancouver Public Library website and look for vpl.ca/readinglights
